Description

A women's long sleeve UV jacket with a high collar, a full-length zip and a drawstring hem that sits at the hip, so your arms, shoulders, back and neck are covered. Stingray's fabric is certified UPF 50+ to the Australian standard AS/NZS 4399:1996 and blocks at least 98% of UVA and UVB rays. The protection is woven into the fibre and the weave rather than a chemical finish, so it cannot wash out or wear off.

It is a swim jacket for women who want their arms covered in the pool or the sea. The chlorine-resistant Italian fabric is quick to dry and holds its shape, and with a regular fit and pockets it doubles as a women's sun protection jacket for walking and travel, just as good for the beach and sightseeing. UPF 50+ means less than 1 in 50 UV rays reach your skin. This Stingray long sleeve jacket is tested and certified to the Australian standard AS/NZS 4399:1996, which helps protect you from sunburn, premature ageing and long-term skin damage.

The protection is woven into the fibre and the weave rather than a chemical finish, so there is nothing to wash out and nothing to reapply.

Does it zip all the way down the front?

Yes. The zip runs the full length of the front, and the collar stands up high to cover your neck.

Will chlorine damage it, and does it dry quickly after swimming?

The Italian fabric resists chlorine and saltwater, so you can swim, snorkel, surf or paddleboard in it, and it keeps its UPF 50+ rating when wet. It is quick to dry once you are out. Rinse it in clean water after swimming.

Is it light enough for walking and travel?

Yes. The fabric is lightweight and breathable, and with a regular fit and pockets it works as well as a UV jacket for travel and sightseeing as it does in the water.

I'm between two sizes. Which should I take?

Take the larger. Measure the fullest part of your chest or bust and match it to the size guide, which runs from 97 cm for S to 117 cm for 2XL. This jacket is a regular fit.

Will it hold its shape, and will the UV protection wash out?

It holds its shape, and the protection is woven into the fibre and the weave rather than a chemical finish, so it cannot wash out or wear off. Wash it cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and dry it in the shade.

Do I still need suncream?

Not on the skin the jacket covers. Use suncream on your face, ears, hands and legs, and reapply after swimming. A UPF 50+ sun hat covers the head.

Is it suitable if I have had skin cancer or my skin is sensitive to the sun?

Yes. Its UPF 50+ cover suits women who need extra sun protection: after skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma, with autoimmune conditions such as lupus, scleroderma and dermatomyositis, with photosensitivity conditions such as actinic keratosis, porokeratosis, vitiligo and chronic actinic heliodermatitis, with genetic conditions such as EPP, Bloom syndrome and ichthyoses, and during chemotherapy, radiotherapy or immunosuppressive treatment. We cannot give medical advice, so follow your dermatologist or consultant on how much cover you need.
