Description
The Salcombe hat is a certified UPF 50+ wide brim sun hat in a natural fabric blend: a breathable 55% cotton and 45% linen, independently tested to EN 13758, the European sun protective clothing standard, and blocking over 98% of UVA and UVB rays. Its wide, flexible 11 cm brim shades the face, ears and neck, well beyond the 7.5 cm dermatologists recommend, and a discreet rear opening keeps ponytails comfortable. The fully reversible design gives you two colours in one hat: turn it inside out to switch. Each order arrives with two chin straps, one to match either side, and a detachable bow band, itself reversible, for occasions that call for more. Available in three fitted sizes, it folds flat for travel and springs back into shape.

Find your size
Fits head circumference
- XS/S up to 55 cmup to 21⅝"
- M 55 – 57.5 cm21⅝" – 22⅝"
- L/XL 57.5 – 60 cm22⅝" – 23⅝"
Between sizes? Take the larger. The toggle and ribbon tighten the fit, so a hat can be made smaller but never bigger.
How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape measure around your head, about 1 cm above your eyebrows at the front.
- Bring it just above your ears and around the bump at the back of your head.
- Keep the tape level and snug, not tight. Wear your hair as you would with the hat.
- Read the measurement where the tape meets. That is your head circumference.
No tape measure? Use a piece of string, mark where it meets, then measure the string against a ruler.
Certified UPF 50+ fabric, across an 11 cm brim
A sun hat protects you twice over: the fabric has to stop UV reaching your skin, and the brim has to put enough of you in shade. Plenty of hats manage one. The Salcombe is built to do both.
Woven from cotton and linen
A 55% cotton, 45% linen weave that holds its UPF 50+ rating while still letting air move through it, so the hat stays cool in the heat you bought it for.
Turn it inside out to switch colour
Both sides are made to be worn on the outside, so neither is a lining. The ribbon reverses too and each colour has its own chin strap, so one hat covers a variety of different styles.
Fabric loops are on the inside and out, so the ribbon and the chin straps can clip on whichever way round you wear it.

Folds flat. Springs back into shape.
A flexible wire runs through the brim, so it packs into a case without a hat box and recovers its shape on arrival. Bend the brim down against low sun, or up off your face, and it stays where you put it.

Three fitted sizes, not one-size-fits-all
Measure around your head just above the ears and choose the nearest size. Between sizes, take the larger: the internal toggle and the ribbon band both draw the fit in, so a hat can be made smaller but never bigger.
