Common questions about women's UV swimwear

Does women's UV swimwear come in plus sizes?

Yes. The women's swim shirts run from S to 7XL, and sunsuits, shorts and jackets run from S to 2XL. The swim fabric stretches and recovers, so it fits closely without feeling tight. Check the size guide on the product page, because sizing varies between styles and brands, and take the larger size if you are between two.

Can I wear UV swimwear out of the water?

Yes, all equatorsun women's swimwear is designed for land as well as water. The fabric is thin, lightweight and quick-drying.

A swim shirt or sunsuit can be worn from a swim into a walk along the beach, a boat trip or a game with the kids without a change of clothes. The shorts and leggings also work for running, cycling and the gym as well as the pool.

Do I still need sun cream with UV swimwear?

Only on the skin that is not covered. UPF 50+ fabric blocks at least 98% of UV rays wherever it covers you, and unlike sun cream it does not wash off, rub off or need reapplying every two hours. Put sun cream on the face, hands, feet and any other skin still showing, and choose a piece with more coverage if you want to use less SPF.

Does chlorine damage UV swimwear?

Not equatorsun UPF swimwear. The swim fabrics are specially designed to be chlorine-resistant, so regular pool sessions do not fade the colour, loosen the fit or reduce the UV protection. Rinse the piece in cold water after a swim in a pool or the sea and hang it to dry in the shade.
