Description
The Wallaroo Sophia is a cotton bucket sun hat with a stitched-on butterfly or fairy, rated UPF 50+ to block over 98% of UV rays. Available in white or dusty pink.
The 3 inch brim goes all the way round, so it shades the face, ears and the back of the neck. Inside there is a drawstring you can tighten, which means the hat stays put while they run about and can be let out a little as they grow.
Made from cotton with a gingham lining, and it packs flat into a bag without losing its shape. Head size 54cm.

The brim goes the full way round, so the ears and the back of the neck are shaded as well as the face.
Cotton outside, gingham lining inside
Cotton breathes, so it does not get hot and sticky underneath on a long afternoon. There is no wire or stiffening in the brim, which is why it squashes into a bag and comes back out the right shape.
A butterfly, or a fairy
Each hat has a motif appliqued onto the ribbon band by hand, in gingham and floral offcuts with a button and stitched detail. The white hat has a butterfly, the pink one has a fairy.
It is the part children pick their hat by, which matters more than it sounds when you are trying to get one onto their head every morning.

Run a tape around your child’s head, just above the ears, and compare it to 54 cm. Inside the hat there is a drawstring you can tighten, so it can be brought in for a smaller head and let out again as they grow.
