Aren't all sun hats sun protective?

Not quite. Most hats will give you some shade, but that doesn’t mean they’re actually blocking harmful UV rays. In fact, many ordinary hats let UV through the fabric - especially lighter or loosely woven ones. That’s why dermatologists recommend wearing UPF-certified sun protective gear.

If one of the main reasons you wear a sun hat is to protect your face, it just makes sense to choose one that’s been tested and proven to do exactly that.

What is UPF 50+ protection?

UPF 50+ is the highest rating for fabrics. It means that the fabric blocks 98% of UV rays.

All of our apparel, this sun hat included, are certified UPF 50+ under the rigorous Australian and New Zealand standard AS/NZS 4399:1966.

Is the brim wide enough to cover my face?

The sun hat comes with a 4" wide brim to ensure your face and neck has excellent sun protection.

Nonetheless, it is always good practice to apply suncream to your face to ensure you are protected from reflected UV rays.

Do I need to wear suncream if I am wearing this hat?

This sun hat provides excellent UPF 50+ sun protection, which significantly reduces the risk of sunburn. However, for maximum protection, it's still recommended to use suncream on exposed areas of skin that this hat doesn’t cover.

How can I wash this sun hat?

To ensure longevity, machine wash the hat in cold water with mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners. Hang to dry in the shade to maintain its colour.

Is this hat suitable for my condition?
