Description
A women's cropped UV jacket with long sleeves, a high collar and a full-length zip. It has a closer, more fitted cut that finishes above the hip, and no pockets. This cropped UV ray protection jacket blocks at least 98% of UVA and UVB, is certified UPF 50+ to the Australian standard AS/NZS 4399:1996, and has its protection woven into the fibre and the weave rather than a chemical finish.
It is made for women who surf, swim and snorkel. This Stingray jacket keeps its UPF 50+ rating when wet, resists saltwater and chlorine and dries quickly, and it is light and breathable enough to wear every day as a casual sun protection jacket. Sizes S to 2XL, in navy, fuchsia, aqua and black.

How to measure
- Wrap a soft tape measure around the fullest part of your bust.
- Keep the tape level all the way round, including across your back.
- Hold it snug but not tight, and breathe normally.
- Read the measurement where the tape meets. That is your bust measurement.
No tape measure? Use a piece of string, mark where it meets, then measure the string against a ruler.
UV protection that stays in the fabric
UPF 50+ means less than 1 in 50 UV rays get through. This jacket is cut from Stingray's Italian fabric, a blend of 53% polyester and 47% PBT, tested and certified to the Australian standard AS/NZS 4399:1996.
The protection is woven into the fibre and the weave rather than a chemical finish, so it cannot wash out, however often you wash it.
Shorter and closer fitting
This cropped sun jacket finishes above the hip and is cut closer to you, with no pockets. Long sleeves cover your arms, the high collar covers your neck, and a full-length zip runs down the front.

Is the jacket fitted or loose?
Fitted. This women's zip up UV jacket has a closer, tailored cut, and the cropped length finishes above the hip.
Which size should I take if I want to layer underneath?
The larger one. The size guide suggests going up if you are between sizes or want room to layer, and it runs from 86 cm bust for S to 107 cm for 2XL.
Can I wear it in the pool or the sea?
Yes, it blocks at least 98% of UVA and UVB rays in the water as well as out of it, and it resists saltwater and chlorine, so you can surf, swim, snorkel, kayak or paddleboard in it.
Does it have pockets?
No, this cropped jacket has no pockets. If you want pockets, the Stingray Long Sleeve UV Jacket has them. It also has a regular fit and is longer, coming down to the hip with a drawstring hem.
Does it dry quickly, and will the protection wash out?
It dries quickly, and the protection is woven into the fibre and the weave rather than a chemical finish, so it cannot wash out or wear off. Rinse it in clean water after swimming, wash it cold on a gentle cycle and dry it in the shade.
Do I still need suncream?
Only where the jacket does not cover you. Apply it to your face, ears, hands and legs, and again after swimming.
Is it suitable for sun-sensitive skin or after skin cancer?
Yes. Its UPF 50+ rating suits women who need extra sun protection, for example after basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma or melanoma, with autoimmune conditions such as lupus, scleroderma and dermatomyositis, with photosensitivity such as actinic keratosis, porokeratosis or vitiligo, with genetic conditions such as erythropoietic protoporphyria, Bloom syndrome and ichthyoses, and during chemotherapy, radiotherapy or immunosuppressive treatment.
